May Reduce Social Anxiety
Reviews of human studies suggest broad-spectrum CBD can have a positive effect on anxiety symptoms in people with social anxiety disorder, especially when consumed orally in doses between 300 and 600 milligrams. However, it’s important to consult a health care professional familiar with your medical history and cannabis before consuming such a high dose of CBD.
May Improve Sleep
In a 2021 cross-sectional survey exploring the effects of CBD on stress, anxiety and sleep problems, over 48% of participants claimed using an individually calculated dose of CBD helped them fall asleep faster.
However, further research is required to confirm this potential benefit because symptoms and results were self-reported as opposed to being objectively assessed and therefore may have recall bias. Furthermore, the study did not specify whether participants used broad-spectrum CBD or a different type.
May Reduce Chronic Pain
A 2021 survey of about 250 patients from seven pain management clinics across Southern California regarding their experiences with CBD reported that broad-spectrum CBD specifically helped improve pain levels, predominantly back and neck pain. The survey results also suggest that broad-spectrum CBD might be an effective tool for reducing the amount of other medications such patients use to manage their pain, including opioids.
